This project developed over three separate productions; the first at the University of Galway (June ’22), the second at Saddleback College (Feb ’23), and the third at Stanford University (March ’23). Each of these productions explored themes of memory, electrical and biochemical signal transmission, and the structure and function of neurons.
The University of Galway production was supported by a STEAM Engagement grant from the National Science Foundation, Ireland and also included a series of educational workshops for elementary students (developed and taught by Cavazzi and Fairfield in the weeks leading up to the public performance). Dr Richard Roche and Dr Mossy Kelly gave short talks, and the lobby preshow also featured live painting by artist Caitlin Rooke.
